This will serve as a quick summarization of the website, bkrennick.com, starting with the layout of the page and then moving on to the external links.

Layout
                I’ve been playing with website building for a few years now and one of the things I have learned (regarding pictures and videos) is if someone else has a great way of doing it, don’t try and reinvent the wheel. On my older sites I would spend hours updating just for a few pictures – NO MORE! One thing you’ll notice, I’ve pretty much outsourced all of the main content to other websites. By outsourcing I have saved countless hours and am more likely to update.
                For the layout I went with a simple split between my links on the left and content on the right, this way you can jump between the different websites holding information for myself and Kristy without hitting the back button. I made the forum default on the main page because I want everyone to quickly see if there is anything new with us or each other.  

Link Description

                Webcam? – I have a webcam setup pointing outside and broadcasting with a 95% up time. The only time I have it off is when I restart my computer. Until the temperature drops I’ll be pointing out from under the deck, which means you want see anything at night (no street light). Once it does get cooler I’ll be moving my laptop upstairs and point out the living room window, here you’ll be able to see outside 24 hours a day. The question mark is there because you never know when I’ll be on and able to chat back with you.

                Baby Registry – Kristy set this up…… So buy us stuff!!!  And thank you to those who have, we greatly appreciate it, every bit helps a lot. Again THANK YOU!

                Forum – This is just a spot to say hi and to see what’s new with everybody. I currently have 4 main threads running in the forum: Shout outs, Problems, Announcements, and Favorite Links. These are all pretty self explanatory so please leave a message for everyone to see!

                Pictures – As of 3Aug08 I have 11,700 pictures on my Picasa account. So have fun searching through them. I’m slowly in the process of tagging the pictures for easier search, but with nearly twelve thousand pictures you can see how this is a very daunting task. Anyone who has a Picasa account and help buy tagging the pictures you view…. Really I don’t expect anyone to do that, heck I’ve been on Picasa for well over a year and not one person has commented on any of my pictures… Thanks…. ;-)

                YouTube – This will be where I post all my videos from now on, I dropped my Google video account because it was just too clunky and restrictive. YouTube is popular for a reason; it’s easy to use and quite fast for a streaming video site with millions of users. Just check it out every so often to see what dumb stuff out cats have been up to… Don’t forget to look here after the baby is born, I’ll post all baby footage on YouTube!

                MySpace – These days it seems like everyone has a MySpace account, if you don’t you are a loser, lol… no really I’ve grown to dislike MySpace. When it first came out the idea of staying in touch with all your distant friends and family was quite tantalizing, but after MySpace became the internet juggernaut that it is today and I received dozens of friend request a day from people I’ve never met, I lost interest. At one time you had no control over who showed up on your main page as your buddies, at that time friends were displayed according to the order they joined (basically if you had a low ID number you would be on the front page of everybody you knew). My ID number is 18,885,586 now people are in the user id range above 1,401,753,629. At one time that gave me close to 10,000 friends, I can’t say no to someone who wants to be my friend… I’m down to about 3,000 now but I probably only know 50 of them, needless to say I really don’t get on MySpace anymore, but if you still enjoy it feel free to add me as your friend just don’t expect a speedy response.

                Big mentors – This is the website Kristy built for big brothers and big sisters of the black hills. She did an outstanding job on the website, I think it looks very professional and you should really stop by and look at the great site she built. Also if you didn’t know Kristy works there and loves her job.

                 - If you notice someone else is online jump into the chat room and converse.

                Sitemap – A sitemap is just a page showing all the links a website offers.
